The site comprises approximately 13.3 acres (5.4 hectares) of land, currently housing the Grade II Listed Twyford Abbey, with a walled garden and public open space. The development totals 326 dwellings and brings the Abbey back into beneficial use, as a conversion to residential (30 units), with an additional 296 units comprising a mix of market sale and affordable housing units.
The Abbey will be refurbished and remodelled separately. The remaining 296 units will provide 226 key worker apartments and houses plus 70 affordable homes, in a mix of 1-bed, 2-bed and 3-bed apartments and town houses.
The key worker housing will be acquired and managed by The Key and made available to key workers at discounted rents, equating to approximately one-third of their net household income. The development will be delivered by Latimer, with affordable housing transferred to Clarion Housing Group.
